Our Cause
Race For Hope 5K is a fun and healthy way for Jamaicans to contribute to the refurbishment of the Hope Gardens & Zoo.
An initiative of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE) and Nature Preservation Foundation (NPF), funds raised by the 5K run are used to support the needs of Jamaica’s historic icon for open green spaces, fauna, flora and wildlife.
The Nature Preservation Foundation is currently undertaking a massive overhaul of the physical infrastructure and technological make-up of the Zoo in order to make the environment friendlier for the animals and more comfortable for visitors to enjoy.
The Race For Hope 5K is held every last Sunday in September and is listed on the JAAA annual road race calendar. The event is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and experience levels.
